Job Scope

The Channel Led National Accounts Retail (NAR) Business Leader / Electronic Security Consultant is responsible for driving revenue in the National Accounts Retail Market, with an emphasis on providing Allegion networked access control product solutions. The position will have shared NAR team responsibility for implementing a comprehensive National Accounts Retail strategy, both within the Allegion Go-To-Market and Sales teams as well in the field. Specific duties and responsibilities include developing targeted relationships with NAR end user accounts and their influencers, while generating revenue growth through identified distribution partners, service providers and PACs OEM Software Alliance Members (SAMs) that provide networked electronic security solutions within the NAR space. In addition, this individual will help drive new business with national accounts retailers, developers, property managers, and service providers, by leveraging the total Allegion branded door and hardware product portfolio, and specification capabilities, within the new construction, store remodel, facility maintenance and loss prevention verticals of the NAR market space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic relationships with end users and key influencers in the National Accounts Retail space including: National Account Retailers, Architects, General Contractors, Service Providers, Developers and Property Managers

  • Provide and Coordinate Real-time Enterprise Level Access Control Solutions to NAR clients using Allegion products that are integrated into our PACs OEM Software Alliance Members’ applications

  • Manage and Facilitate the National Account Vendor (NAV) bid and award process for this type of Scope of Work (SoW) with all SAM partners, direct accounts, 3rd Party and end-user participants to win and retain business in this space, including the use of proper specification and documentation procedures

  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences and other events as needed for networking, prospecting, business development and market analysis purposes

  • Understand the business relationships, competitor positioning and market dynamics that drive Allegion’s success in the National Accounts space

  • Coordinate, communicate and document National Account Retail strategies, opportunities and activities with Allegion’s existing Sales and Go-To-Market teams

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required

  • 10+ years sales and account management experience with clear demonstration of successful growth

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the National Accounts or Strategic Accounts Management sector

  • A demonstrated technical understanding of how Real-time Enterprise Level Integrated Applications for Access Control Solutions work between hardware manufacturers and software providers

  • An understanding of Access Control specification writing in both Divisions 8 and 28

  • A working knowledge of New Construction and Aftermarket distribution business models, including SoW coordination through 3rd Party Service Providers

  • A working knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical (electrified) Door Hardware, including Master Key Systems, is preferred

  • Ability to think strategically and problem solve with entrepreneurial commitment to achieving goals

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with local and strategic sales teams, other internal cross-functional teams, and customers

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience influencing others with a bias for action

  • Strong presentation skills required

  • Ability to travel nationally in the range of 50%+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to execute on business plans

  • Customer-centric with the ability to balance both customer benefits and business financials effectively
