Tax Manager - Remote with occasional travel to Mississauga, Montreal or other Canadian locations
Reporting to Director, International Tax oversee Allegion’s income and transaction taxes in Canada ensuring compliance with all tax laws. Role includes all tax compliance, tax reporting and tax controversy efforts in Canada. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual income tax accounting under US GAAP. You will be working with a group of 20+ tax professionals internationally.
What You Will Do:
Trusted business partner for all Canadian businesses serving as the main point of contact between Canadian business and tax advisors/corporate tax team
Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of all Canadian income tax filings
Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual US GAAP income tax provisions for all Canadian entities including maintenance of monthly income tax account reconciliations
Responsible for monthly GST/HST/QST and other indirect tax filings for one Canadian entity. Support remaining legal entities as needed.
Manage all Canadian tax audits
Maintain Canadian tax calendar
Provide support to the corporate tax team in preparation of Allegion’s Canadian transfer pricing reports and related documentation
Monitor all relevant tax legislation and provide guidance relating to new tax laws
Support corporate tax team on special projects including business restructurings and mergers and acquisitions
Support local business and build strong business relationships with team members at various levels of the organization
Strong business acumen, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines
Canadian tax experience, including income taxes and indirect taxes
Experience with tax research and ability to communicate tax law to both tax and non-tax professionals
Knowledge and experience with US GAAP accounting for income taxes. Lack of knowledge can be offset with ability and willingness to learn.
Working knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision software or similar tax provision software preferred. Skills can be developed through on the job training.
Ability to collaborate with top management and other key stakeholders
Strong team oriented professional
Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills
Bilingual in both English and French preferred
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting or Finance required
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a multi-national corporate tax environment and/or equivalent Big Four public accounting role
CPA or equivalent qualification required
Required skills: Basic Microsoft Office
Preferred skills: GL experience with Hyperion, OneSource Tax provision software
Employee must be able to travel up to 20% of the time within the US and Canada for meetings/occasional travel to Mississauga, Montreal or other Canadian locations
Remote work in Ontario or Montreal

Que vas tu faire:

Responsable de la préparation opportune et précise de toutes les déclarations de revenus canadiennes
Responsable des dispositions fiscales mensuelles, trimestrielles et annuelles selon les PCGR des États-Unis pour toutes les entités canadiennes, y compris la maintenance des rapprochements mensuels des comptes d'impôt sur le revenu.
Responsable des déclarations mensuelles de TPS/TVH/TVQ et autres taxes indirectes pour une entité canadienne. Soutenir les entités juridiques restantes selon les besoins.
Gérer toutes les vérifications fiscales canadiennes
Tenir à jour le calendrier fiscal canadien
Fournir un soutien à l’équipe de fiscalité des sociétés dans la préparation des rapports canadiens sur les prix de transfert d’Allegion et de la documentation connexe.
Surveiller toutes les législations fiscales pertinentes et fournir des conseils relatifs aux nouvelles lois fiscales
Soutenir l’équipe de fiscalité des sociétés sur des projets spéciaux, notamment des restructurations d’entreprises et des fusions et acquisitions
Soutenir les entreprises locales et établir de solides relations d’affaires avec les membres de l’équipe à différents niveaux de l’organisation
Fort sens des affaires, souci du détail, capacité à respecter les délais
Expérience en fiscalité canadienne, y compris les impôts sur le revenu et les impôts indirects
Expérience en recherche fiscale et capacité à communiquer le droit fiscal aux professionnels fiscaux et non fiscaux.
Connaissance et expérience de la comptabilité US GAAP pour les impôts sur le revenu. Le manque de connaissances peut être compensé par la capacité et la volonté d’apprendre.
Connaissance pratique du logiciel OneSource Tax Provision ou d’un logiciel de provision fiscale similaire, préférable. Les compétences peuvent être développées grâce à une formation sur le terrain.
