Graphic Designer

Position: Graphic Designer Intermediate (Contract 1 year with potential for Full-time)

(Intermediate Graphic Designers fall between the junior and senior designers and usually already have a professional portfolio. As an intermediate designer, a person will be an integral part of larger campaigns and will often take on smaller projects independently)

Summary: Allegion Canada is seeking a capable, experienced and creative Graphic Designer with digital marketing experience. You will work closely with agencies and other Allegion staff to develop and support marketing and sales initiatives. This is an in-office position.

What You Will Do:

  • Design visually appealing graphics for print, web and social media that meet corporate brand standards

  • Liaise with stakeholder partners, US based teams, agencies and outside printers and suppliers

  • Work closely with internal customers to assess creative needs and execute design directions based on project objectives

  • Responsible for developing and executing creative concepts from ideation to delivery

  • Understand the building of brands through consistent and effective usage of brand imagery

  • Produce creative work that pushes the boundaries of great design while maintaining the creative integrity of the Allegion brand and sub-brands (Schlage, Von Duprin, LCN to name a few)

  • Produce executive presentations in PowerPoint; create presentation templates and assist speakers

  • Create and post internal Traditional and Digital Signage

  • Produce HTML / WordPress graphics and function as back up to create marketing emails + newsletters

  • Keep current with design and communication trends, technology and best practices

  • Create graphic icons for use on website, social media, and email

  • Website maintenance and design using Adobe Experience Manager

  • Advertising creation, Brochure design and adaptations, POP and merchandising design and Packaging

  • Signs for displays, conferences and external and internal events

  • Catalogue and price book design

  • Ability to create and edit short videos and conference recordings using Adobe PP/AE

  • Produce event registration pages and Promotional Landing pages

  • Analyze and track website performance, and keep up to date with analytics best practices

What Experience You Will Need:

  • Four years’ experience in marketing and graphic design

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or similar

What Professional Skills You Will Need:

  • Proficient on both PC and Mac platforms

  • Advanced user of Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud – specifically InDesign, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Acrobat Professional

  • Strong computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Familiarity with CRM functionality

  • A passion for outstanding client satisfaction

  • Attention to detail and proofreading skills

  • Motivated self-starter with outstanding attitude

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal)

  • Bilingual – English & French is a strong asset
