Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist partners with employees at all levels in the manufacturing plant to provide expertise and counseling for all people issues affecting plant operations. The incumbent works to carry out all policies and procedures relating to personnel activity while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines. The incumbent also partners with leaders to drive change and improvement in bottom-line results and implements corporate organizational initiatives and programs with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy. This role reports to the HR Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Acts as a business partner to leaders in areas such as employee engagement, recruitment, employee development, performance management, and employee relations.

  • Partners with leaders to evaluate and diagnose issues that impact organizational effectiveness and proposes strategies for resolving issues.

  • Transfers skills in human resources management and organizational effectiveness to managers by means of role modeling, training, and coaching.

  • Builds and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with employees and local community.

  • Lead special functional projects related to employee engagement, recruiting, performance management, etc.

  • Conducts management training in interviewing, selection, terminations, promotions, performance management, sexual harassment, or other areas as needed.

  • Process personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations

  • Review exit interviews to determine reasons behind voluntary separations.

  • Support in salaried and hourly recruitment to include job postings, scheduling interviews, and conducting phone screens.

  • Reporting and analysis for HR processes to include performance management process, annual compensation/benefit planning & employee engagement results

  • Provides support with annual processes such as PMP reporting, calibration decks, merit process and assists in the development of growth roadmaps.

  • Project work as needed

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Management, Psychology, Finance, Business, or related discipline

  • 5+ years of experience in general Human Resources: employee relations, talent acquisition, change management, compensation, benefits, compensation, and local and federal laws.

  • Ability to objectively coach, influence, and mentor employees and management through complex or difficult issues.

  • Experience with HRMS – Workday Preferred

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and professionals.

  • Detail-orientated, organized, with a strong sense of urgency

  • Strong problem solving, conflict management, influencing skills, and change management skills

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
