Summer Intern - Specifications & Fulfillment

This position will work directly with the specification team, assisting in business and process transformation.


  • Assess architect penetration throughout RSO North Central, determine extent of Allegion coverage versus competition.

  • Perform gap analysis on architect base for Minneapolis Metropolitan Area to identify target vertical markets and firms based on Dodge construction data.

  • Compare target firms against current architectural base utilizing internal tools and resources.

  • Develop a plan with Spec Manager and Project Sales Manager to focus on firms with the highest potential for growth.

  • Gain a better understanding of our specification writing services by integrating with our Specification Writing Apprentice Program (SWAP) cohort, including attending some training classes and possibly factory visits.


  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Business Management and Administration

  • Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program for undergraduate candidates.

  • Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership on school/work projects).

  • Quickly learn our customer base, our sales process and our sales technology stack and apply that knowledge to build a real-world pipeline of business within your first 30 days.

  • You are results driven, strive for success and know how to support the success of the overall team.

  • Strong interpersonal, sales, and customer relation skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office products.

  • Excellent time management and decision making skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.
