Learning and Development Specialist

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design and conduct needs assessments and analyze results from the business to determine the right solutions to support business needs and strategic initiatives

  • Employ instructional design methodology to design in person, online and mobile learning solutions to support leadership development, systems implementations, and functional skill or knowledge-based training needs

  • Develop innovative materials and experiences along the 70/20/10 spectrum of continuous learning: on-the-job learning, social learning, and traditional learning

  • Develop engaging eLearning programs with sound UI principles

  • Film and edit video to include in eLearning courses, internal social media sites

  • Support employee engagement activities, designing and developing tools

  • Support implementation of in person, virtual, mobile training

  • Conduct evaluations to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement of high quality training content to achieve business objectives

  • Develop train-the-trainer programs, as needed

  • Establish project plans for learning projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent years of experience

  • Master’s Degree preferred (Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Human Performance Technology, etc).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in learning and development that directly aligns with specific responsibilities for this position (Required)

  • Proficient with a variety of eLearning design and development tools include Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline (Required)

  • Proficient in graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, iMovie, Final Cut Pro) (Recommended)

  • Experience in gamification, Cornerstone On Demand, and open source platforms and tools preferred

  • Remains informed about industry trends, learning research, and emerging technologies

  • A demonstrated track record of providing excellent customer service, and acting with a ‘serving others’ mindset

  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations

Scope

  • This is a global role, supporting our global talent management strategies, as determined by business needs

  • Travel Amount: up to 10%
